April 2008

Wednesday 2nd April

Pub Night

Clive

Join us at the Green Man, Howe Street, and hear all the gossip from the Easter trip over a nice pint.

Howe Street is on the old A130, just north of Gt Waltham. The pub is on the main road through the village (grid ref. TL696148, postcode CM3 1BG, see map). Having recently changed hands, the pub sports an extensive menu should anyone wish to arrive early enough for a bit of nosh. Otherwise meet for drinks from about 8:30pm.

Wednesday 9th April

Confessions of a Postman

George

This is the Night Mail crossing the border,
Bringing the cheque and the postal order,
Letters for the rich, letters for the poor,
The shop at the corner and the girl next door.

Following his intensive training over the Christmas period, George has volunteered to give us a behind-the-scenes talk on what Royal Mail does with your post. So if you are interested in the gadgetry or are just curious about what happens after your letter disappears into the post box, then this evening is unmissable.
