Chelmsford Town City Trail

Meet outside the YMCA at 7:30pm for a 3 mile walk around the bright lights of Chelmsford City centre. Visit the cathedral, Tindal Square and Moulsham Street looking at historic buildings in each area. Retire to the Original Plough by the railway bridge (Duke St) for a drink afterwards.

Wednesday 10^th September

Committee Meeting

We’ll be sorting through events for December & January and looking at trips for next year. Everybody welcome.

Sunday 14^th September

Billericay to Ingatestone walk

Meet in the Co-op car park in Queens Park Ave, Billericay (CM12 0UA, see map) at 10:30am for a walk of about 8 miles, including a visit to Ingatestone Hall (cost £6). This 16^th century manor house has been the home of the Petre family for 15 generations.

There will be refreshments en route, but please bring a packed lunch.

Culture, Architecture, History, Politics – Berlin has it all, and we experienced most of it in our week there. Join us for an evening of the best bits. Please pass picture files to Dave on a memory stick for inclusion in the show.

Friday 19^th to Sunday 21^st September

Edale, Derbyshire

A weekend in the Derbyshire Peak District, staying at the Stables Bunkhouse at Ollerbrook Farm, half a mile from Edale village.  An ideal walking area, near the start of the Pennine Way, with easy access to Kinder Scout. Plus two pubs, a café and a railway station a short stroll away.

Deposit £36 please.

Wednesday 24^th September

Vietnamese Birthday Meal

It’s Dave J’s birthday, so if you needed an excuse to come out for a bit of a feed, here it is. The plan is to try out the new Vietnamese Restaurant (Viet Kitchen) in Victoria Road, CM1 1NY, nearly opposite the Y. Meet at 7:30 to eat at 8pm.

Let Dave know by 17 September if you want to come, so he can book a table.
