Seamans Lane walk

Carol

Meet at 7.30pm at the Three Compasses pub, West Hanningfield nr Stock (Grid Ref TQ726996, see map) for a leisurely figure of eight walk encompassing Seamans lane. This lane was the old road from Stock to South Hanningfield until the reservoir was built in the 1950s between the two villages. Now it is a road to nowhere, closed to vehicles and the most charming country lane you can imagine. The walk will end with a drink at the olde worlde Three Compasses.

Sunday 23rd May

Saffron Walden Hostel Garden Tidy-up

Dave P

As part of the publicity and fundraising for hostel improvements, YHA are organising a garden party in June for local dignitaries and celebrities, hosted by YHA's new president, John Craven. And they would like us to help prepare for it with a big tidy-up effort in the garden. So if you can spare any time for weeding, pruning, chopping, mowing and skip-filling, please come along to the hostel from 11am.

See some pictures of our work to restore the garden over the last few years.

Wednesday 26th May

Scottish Evening

Ali

Whether you are joining us in Scotland or not, come along for an entertaining evening of slides, pictures and a light-hearted quiz. See how much you know about our gaelic friends in the north.
