Lodes Way

Sunday 2nd September

Sunday Bike Ride: The Lodes Way

Dave P

The Lodes Way is a cycle path across the fens from Anglesey Abbey to Wicken Fen.  The Cambridgeshire Lodes comprise six historic man-made waterways connecting fen edge villages to the River Cam.  It’s a 16 mile round trip, but we’ll probably extend the route, returning via Upware and the Five Miles from Anywhere Inn on the banks of the Cam. And there are of course National Trust cafés at each end.

Meet at 10.30am the Natioanl Trust car park at Anglessey Abbey CB25 9EJ.

Try Kayaking

John W

Postponed from July, when it was too windy, John is hosting a taster session of kayaking on the beautiful, quiet creeks of the River Crouch. We use stable, unsinkable, sit on kayaks. You do not need rollover training!

No experience needed - there will be instruction and a safety briefing before we go out. Tea and cakes in the clubhouse afterwards.

£3.00 per person to cover hire of kayak and buoyancy aid – pay on the day. Limited to 10 people – email John W to book.

Meet South Woodham Ferrers Yacht Club, Marsh Farm Road, CM3 5WP at 2pm.
