Pub Night

The Hurdlemakers Arms, Post Office Road, Woodham Mortimer, Maldon, Essex, CM9 6ST (see map). Meet from 8:30pm for a drink or a bit earlier if you fancy some nosh.


Sunday 5th September

Hylands Walk

Cress

Meet at the car park at Hylands Park (entrance from Writtle bypass) at 10:30am for a 10 mile walk taking in Edney Common.

Join us for trip planning for next summer and all the best in local walks. Everybody welcome!


Sunday 12th September

Billericay Heritage Walks

Billericay Town Council is running a series of 2 hour gentle walks taking in the heritage delights of Billericay town centre. They start at 1:30pm from the railway station, and although they are free prior booking is required (Town Council 01277 625732 or let Cress know before the end of August).

Lan Thai Meal

Join Dave for a meal out at the Lanthai, the lush Thai restaurant on Victoria Road (just opposite the Y, see map).

It is Dave’s birthday, but everyone is welcome – just be sure to let Dave know by the 15th so we can make sure we have enough seats booked. The plan is to meet at 7:30pm.


Friday 24th to Sunday 26th September

Penmachno, Snowdonia

We’re staying in The Eagles Bunkhouse, Penmachno, "In The Heart of Snowdonia, a Luxury Bunkhouse in a Real Ale Pub".

The peaceful village of Penmachno lies in a secluded valley, four miles from Betws-y-coed. There are scenic walks in the remote Machno valley, and Snowdon and all of the Welsh 3000ft peaks are within 15 miles.

The bunkhouse is centrally heated with 4-bed and 2-bed rooms, bed linen provided, showers, drying room, self-catering kitchen and bar with at least 3 cask-conditioned ales always on tap!

Deposit of £30 will book your bed.

The Caretaker at the Civic Theatre

Harold Pinter's landmark play The Caretaker, a compelling study of loneliness and power games.

Starts 7.45pm at Chelmsford Civic Theatre (Fairfield Road car park, accessed via Coval Lane).
