Wednesday 12th October

Committee Meeting

We will be trip planning for winter and organising Wednesday evening activities for December. Everybody welcome!

Friday 14th to Sunday 16th October

Salisbury Weekend

Mike

Salisbury hostel is a 200-year-old building in secluded grounds. It's just a short walk into the heart of the historic city of Salisbury and makes a good base for exploring the multitude of attractions throughout Wiltshire. It's just minutes from Salisbury Cathedral and nine miles from Stonehenge.

Deposit £32 to book your bed (bed price includes warden's breakfast).

Wednesday 19th October

AGM

The star event of the year! This is where we review the trips and events of the past year and vote on the committee to lead us into 2006. This is a club run by its members, for its members and it is very important that as many of you as possible come and let us know what you think.

The meeting starts at 8:30pm, or when enough people have arrived.

Sunday 23rd October

Turpin's Trail Waymark

Turpin's Trail

Nigel

The notorious highwayman Dick Turpin was born in Hempstead and went to school in Thaxted. A new way-marked walk links these towns and the picturesque village of Great Sampford.

Meet at 10am at the Red Lion in Great Sampford. We will walk to Hempstead, return to the Red Lion for lunch (bring sandwiches if you wish), and in the afternoon we'll walk towards West Wood and Thaxted.

Wednesday 26th October

Canada Slides

View from Whistler Mountain

Jim, Mike, Dave J & Ian

The boys came back from their holiday to Canada with tales of spectacular walks, weather and bear sightings. Come see the pictures and hear the tales from the guys themselves. Apparently Ian alone took enough shots for at least 4 slide shows, so there is plenty of great material!

Note: Unless otherwise stated, Wednesday events start at 8.30pm at the YMCA in Victoria Road, Chelmsford
