Wednesday 1st October Pub night - The Queens Head James An evening of beer and conversation at one of our favourite evening haunts. The Queens Head is in Lower Anchor Street, Chelmsford and we'll be there from about 8.30pm. (Grid Ref TL702063, see map) Wednesday 8th October AGM Our annual get together to review the last year, discuss issues affecting the club and to vote on the Committee to serve for the next year. If there are any specific issues you think we should be discussing, please pass them on to Jim. Everyone is encouraged to come if they possibly can. Wednesday 15th October Committee Meeting After all the excitement of the AGM, the new Committee warmly invite anyone who's interested to come to the meeting. They will be discussing Wednesday meetings for December, and trips for next year. 18th/19th October The October Trip Everyone is welcome on this trip, however part of the weekend's activities include the 40th birthday celebrations for our illustrious Treasurer. For this reason the identity of the venue is being kept secret from Dave P. Dave will be taking the deposits for this trip as usual, but please don't tell him where we are going and spoil the surprise! Further info can be obtained from Ali. £20 deposits please. Yellowstone and the American West slide show Marion & James From bubbling hot pools and geysers in Yellowstone to the toothy Teton mountain range in Wyoming; from idyllic lakeside walks to our desert hell in Canyonlands; from wild Bison to white water rafting; all this and more captured on film. Come and be inspired…… Sunday 26th October Weald & Navestock Walk Weald Park, north-west of Brentwood, is a mix of semi-formal parkland, large areas of woodland and the remnants of a medieval deer park. This is a walk of about 9 miles, with lunch at the Green Man pub in Navestock. Meet at the main car park by the Weald Country Park visitor centre, ¼ mile NW of South Weald village (Grid ref TQ570939, see map) at 10:00 GMT (don't forget the clocks go back this morning!!). Please let Marion know if you're coming. Wednesday 29th October Halloween Night Well it might be a couple of nights early, but this is the ideal opportunity to sharpen those knives and get carving on a really scary pumpkin. A prize for the most spine chilling! Bring your own pumpkin (or similar) and a nice sharp knife. Note: Unless otherwise stated, Wednesday events start at 8.30pm at the YMCA in Victoria Road, Chelmsford |
