Viet Kitchen, Chelmsford

Wednesday 4th November

Birthday Meal – Viet Kitchen

Ali

We enjoyed our last visit to the Viet Kitchen in Victoria Road, Chelmsford, so much that it was an obvious choice for a return visit. Whilst it is very close to Ali’s birthday, really it’s just an excuse for a pig-out on one of their delicious Vietnamese set menus. Let Ali know by Wed 28th if you want to come, so we can book a table. Meal at 7:30pm.

The restaurant is in Victoria Road, CM1 1NY, nearly opposite the YMCA.

Wednesday 11th November

Octavia Hill Bunkhouse, Kent

Friday 27th  to Sunday 29th November

Octavia Hill Bunkhouse, Kent

Cress

The Octavia Hill National Trust Bunkhouse at Outridge Farm on the side of Toy’s Hill in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  A peaceful, rural location, yet only a few miles from the M25.

The bunkhouse is a Grade II listed building; it was originally used as a cattle shed and dairy as part of Outridge farm. It now has a well equipped kitchen, showers and central heating.

Other attractions in easy reach include Chartwell (Churchill's former home), Emmetts Garden and Anne Boleyn's childhood home Hever Castle.

Directions: From the A25 at Brasted, take turning signposted to Toys Hill (Chart Lane). After about a mile, turn right into Pipers Green Road. At the end of the road, turn left on the track, passing Outridge Farm, to the bunkhouse (Grid ref: TQ463525, Lat/Long: 51.253060,0.095959; nearest postcode TN16 1ND, see map).
