The White Horse – Quiz Night

Spring has well and truly sprung, so it’s time to start rubbing those brain cells together. Join Helen at the White Horse in Gt Baddow, CM2 7HH, for a drink from 8pm. The quiz starts at 9pm.

Friday 4^th May to Monday 7^th May

For the bank holiday weekend, we're planning 3 nights at YHA Beer, near Seaton in Devon.

On the edge of the fishing village of Beer, this light and airy country house, once a smugglers’ haunt, has a large lawned garden. Walk along the South West Coast Path, hunt for fossils on Charmouth Beach, visit great pubs, beaches & scenery.

Deposit of £48 to book please. Total cost will be about £95 including bed, meals and petrol contribution.

Wednesday 9^th May

Evening Pub Walk

Meet outside the Hoop in Stock at 7:30pm (prompt!) for a 3 mile walk, with a well-earned drink at the end.

Sunday 13^th May

Suffolk Walk: Long Melford from Lavenham

Dave & Helen

Enjoy a bigger walk now the evenings are longer. This is a classic Suffolk walk of 12½ miles from one picturesque village to another. From Lavenham’s timber framed houses and medieval church to Long Melford and back via two historic houses - Melford and Eastwell. Meet in the car park opposite the church in Lavenham at 10.30am.

Bring sandwiches although we may have a few pub stops on the way.

Committee Meeting

Come and join us. We’ll be looking for events for August and weekend trips for late Autumn.

Wednesday 23^rd May

Evening Cycle Ride

Join Jim for a cycle ride of 11.5 miles out to the White Hart pub in Margretting Tye, with 2 miles back to the car afterwards. The route goes through Galleywood, to West Hanningfield, through Stock to the White Hart at Margaretting Tye, and is all on quiet roads once we get out of Galleywood. Meet at Galleywood common car park off the B1007 Stock road (grid ref TL703022, see map) at 7:30pm, don't forget lights.

French Evening

A chance to plan for the forthcoming Provence trip, but even if you’re not joining us on the trip, there will be French snacks and a quiz to get you in the mood.

Note: Unless otherwise stated, Wednesday events start at 8.30pm at the YMCA in Victoria Road, Chelmsford
