Palace Farm Hostel is in converted farm buildings on a family run arable and fruit farm in Kent. Rooms en-suite, fully heated and surround an attractive courtyard garden with lawns, and patio area.

It is situated in the village of Doddington, which has a good pub, in the North Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area is great for walking and wildlife.

From M20 J8, follow A20 to Lenham, then turn left, signposted to Doddington. In Doddington turn left at The Chequers pub, over hill and a further quarter of a mile turn left into the Down Court Road, and turn into the second farm entrance. A walk of 8½ miles in the undulating countryside around Ingatestone and Mountnessing, visiting two halls, three churches and a windmill.

Meet at the church in Ingatestone (CM4 9DU) at 10:30am. Please bring sandwiches for lunch.

Join us for a spicy treat at the Rose of India, Rainsford Rd, Chelmsford, CM1 2QD (opposite the County Hotel), at 7:30pm. Let Dave know by 11 March if you want to come.

Pictures from a spectacular trek through the villages of the sacred valley of Langtang, over mountain passes, past temples and prayer flags, to the holy lake Gosaikunda. Remote communities, landslips, earthquakes and chocolate cake. And views of some of the highest mountains in the world.
