Houghton Mill

Sunday 17th June

Ouse Valley Walk

James & Marion

Meet at 10:30am at Houghton Mill (where we ate our lunch last year). We'll walk the Ouse Valley Way to Godmanchester, returning via Hemmingford Abbots to the inviting Tea Shop at the Mill. Anybody who would like further refreshments is welcome back at our house. This is a leisurely walk of about 6 miles, ascent approx 4 feet! Please bring a packed lunch as there are some lovely picnics sites by the rivers and lakes, and we will also be passing a pub. The Mill is in the village of Houghton, signposted off A1123 Huntingdon to St Ives (grid ref TL282720, see map). It’s National Trust and there’s a small charge for car parking (free for NT members). The Mill is also open for milling demonstrations and well worth a look if you haven't already.

The Walnut Tree

Wednesday 20th June

Pub Night: The Walnut Tree

Cress

Join us for a drink and hopefully some golden evening sunshine at the lovely Walnut Tree pub at Broads Green (about five miles due north of Chelmsford, TL 693 125, see map). Meet at about 8:30pm.

Wednesday 27th June

Evening Walk: Langdon Hills

Mike & Cress

Meet at The Crown, Langdon Hills (grid ref TQ681867, see map), and take advantage of those long summer evenings with a 3 ½ mile walk in the surrounding parks & woodlands.

7:30pm at the pub for the walk, about 9ish if you just want to join us for a drink.

It may also be possible to wander out a little later, after dark, for some glow worm spotting at One Tree Hill, a couple of miles away.
