Provisional Zoom programme for July… may change if we’re permitted to meet in person!
Wednesday 1st July
If the internet holds up, John will be giving us a tour of this fascinating country and its history.
Little-visited, little-known Paraguay is a country much misunderstood, all too often passed over by travellers. A country of remarkable contrasts: it's both rustic and sophisticated. Join us on Zoom at 8.30pm.
Sunday 5th July
Brentwood Bike Ride
A cycle ride through the fields and tranquil villages of West Essex. Approximately 30 miles from Brentwood. There is a possibility of a pub stop if they're open by then (we pass the delightfully remote Mole Trap at Stapleford Tawney). Bring sandwiches.
Please contact Doug for details if you’d like to come; numbers are limited, see advice.
Wednesday 8th July
Country Walking Quiz
A light hearted quiz to test your general knowledge on a topic we should all be familiar with. Join us on Zoom at 8.30pm.
Wednesday 15th July
A trip to the frozen north, courtesy of the Friends. Join us on Zoom at 8.30pm.
Sunday 19th July
Hartswood & Thorndon Walk
A walk through the ancient woodlands of Hartswood and around Thorndon Country Park to Jury Hill for fine views across the Thames plain to Queen Elizabeth II Bridge and Canary Wharf. Approximately 8 miles. Bring sandwiches.
Please contact Doug for details if you’d like to come. Numbers are limited, see advice.
Wednesday 22nd July
Hopefully planning some walks and trips. Zoom at 8.30pm.
Friday 31st July to Sunday 2nd August
A weekend on the North Norfolk coast, staying at YHA Wells-next-the-Sea. A pretty fishing town with a bustling harbour, a sandy beach, creeks and salt marshes. A chance to cycle the Norfolk Coast Cycleway and cycle routes in the Holkham Estate, or walk on the coast path.
THIS TRIP IS POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT YEAR.
Note: Unless otherwise stated, Wednesday events start at 8.30pm on Zoom. Please get in touch for meeting invitation.
