Warley Place: "Edwardian ghosts in a lost paradise". Once an extraordinary Edwardian garden, employing over a hundred gardeners, is now run by Essex Wildlife Trust, having returned to nature. Its 25 acres of woodland paths, with ponds, bird-hides and a mini Alpine Gorge, an enchantingly tranquil place to spend a summer evening.

The adjacent "Thatcher's Arms" offers subsequent opportunity for reflection and relaxation.
