Wednesday 13th January Committee Meeting Planning events for April and trips for the Summer. Please feel free to join us, we’ll be at The Crown in Sandon. Saturday 16th January London Rags to Riches walk Cress Meet at Mile End underground station at 10:30am for a 3 mile walk taking in the diversity of the East End from Spitalfields to Whitechapel: "One of the most fascinating, dynamic and visually arresting urban areas in the world". Followed by a curry at Inito in Shoreditch and in the evening to Kings Cross to see the Lumiere light festival. Note this is a SATURDAY! Wednesday 20th January Live Dosa Meal Mike It’s excusably close to Mike’s birthday, but we don’t need much of a reason for a meal out. The Live Dosa is a restaurant up the theatre end of Duke Street, Chelmsford. It specialises in the southern Indian cooking of Kerala and has had very good reviews, so well worth a try. Let Mike know by 13th Jan if you want to come, so we can be sure of getting a table booked. We'll be eating at 7.30pm. Wednesday 27th January Isle of Man Slide Show Dave P The Isle of Man is roughly the same size as the Isle of Wight, but much less densely populated. It has spectacular cliff scenery, some moderately mountainous hills and a brilliant array of trains and trams to get around on. It could be the perfect walkers destination! Join us for a tour of just what you can fit into a week. Friday 29th to Sunday 31st January 2016 Jordans Hostel, Buckinghamshire Cress YHA Jordans is a rural retreat in a tranquil village near Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire. We have exclusive use of the hostel this weekend, and plan to use it as a base to walk a section of the Thames Path. Deposit £38 please. Note: Unless otherwise stated, Wednesday events start at 8.30pm at the YMCA in Victoria Road, Chelmsford |
