Combined Military Services Museum

A day out in Maldon, with a museum visit, a pub lunch and a walk along the sea wall.

Meet at 10.30am at the Combined Military Services Museum, in Station Road, Maldon, in the industrial area, (follow the brown tank signs, postcode CM9 4LQ, see map, plenty of parking).

We will have an introductory talk before looking round the museum.  Entry fee is £4.75.  The museum houses a wide ranging collection, from civil war armour and shipwreck artefacts to gas masks and fragments of a Zeppelin.  There’s also a unique collection of covert weapons and espionage equipment.

When we’ve finished at the museum, we’ll drive to Butt Road car park, (left at the top of the hill in the Town), and walk to The Queens Head for lunch at about 12.30pm (or bring sandwiches if you prefer). In the afternoon Chris will lead a short walk along the sea wall and around the town.

Try Chelmsford’s new Japanese restaurant, Moshi Sushi.  Traditional bite-sized rice, fish and chicken dishes to choose from the conveyor belt.

The restaurant is at 24 High Chelmer (near the multi-storey car park).  Meet there at 7.30pm.
