We are planning a quiz and a photo caption competition, plus Dave's running a slide show of this year's activities. Please email Dave with any photo contributions and bring along any prints you have which are crying out for a witty caption.

To find it (grid ref TL665108, see map) take the A1060 (Rainsford Rd./Roxwell Rd.) out of Chelmsford; turn right at lights into Chignall Rd., after 1 mile turn left (Mashbury Rd) signposted Chignall St. James. Hall is on the left after almost 2 miles.

Please let Cress know if you're coming and what food you'll bring.

Friday 27th Dec to Wednesday 1st Jan 2020

Exmoor

Dave P

For New Year, we will be staying at the National Trust's Exmoor Bunkhouse. At Countisbury Hill on the North Devon coast, on the fringes of Exmoor, there are miles of coastal hikes and moorland walks on the doorstep. The bunkhouse, a converted barn, provides comfortable centrally-heated accommodation surrounded by dramatic valleys, rugged moorland and an impressive rocky coastline. The nearby towns of Lynton and Lynmouth are also worth a visit.  Plus there's a pub, The Blue Ball Inn, just a few yards away from the bunkhouse.

Directions: On the A39 at Countisbury, car park opposite. Postcode EX35 6NE, Grid Ref SS746495, ///jammy.warns.spurring. Fitted sheet, two pillows and pillow cases provided. Please bring a duvet or sleeping bag.

£40 deposit to book a bed.

Note: Unless otherwise stated, Wednesday events start at 8.30pm at the YMCA in Victoria Road, Chelmsford
