Wednesday 3rd April Pub Night Another visit to the popular Queens Head pub (formerly The Partners) in Lower Anchor Street, just off the B1007 New London Road, Chelmsford (Grid Ref TL702063, see map). Meet from 8:30pm. Wednesday 10th April Committee Meeting Planning Wednesday events for June. More ideas for walks and weekends always needed. Everyone welcome. Wednesday 17th April Africa Slide Show Lynn & Paul Join Lynn and Paul for the trip of a life time to the Dark Continent. Come and share the excitement of safari out in the wild, face-to-face with gorillas, lions and elephants. This trip was the reason Lynn and Paul couldn't be with us at New Year, so I guess it must've been really, really good… Friday 19th to Sunday 21st April Jordans Hostel, Buckinghamshire Our fame has spread after our work at Saffron Walden hostel. We've been invited for a weekend at Jordans in Buckinghamshire to help clear the garden and have a bonfire. There'll also be time to explore the Chiltern countryside. The hostel is a small wooden building set in two acres of pleasant woodland. The nearby peaceful, rural village of Jordans is closely associated with the early quaker movement. There are 12 free beds for people helping with the garden, but we are collecting £5 each to book your place and cover the cost of food for the weekend. Wednesday 24th April Toys 'R' Us It's been a while since we last did a toy evening; so blow the dust off your old train set, scalextric or your favourite Dinky toy and bring them along to show the rest of us. All games and toys welcome, if they can be played with by groups of childish adults, so much the better. Note: Unless otherwise stated, Wednesday events start at 8.30pm at the YMCA in Victoria Road, Chelmsford |
